My Priorities

A Stronger Economy. A Stronger Kent County.

Kent County doesn’t have to choose between protecting what makes this place special and building a stronger economy. We can do both.

My plan builds on our greatest strengths—our people, our small businesses, our farms, our working waterfront, our natural beauty, and our historic towns—to create sustainable economic growth that benefits everyone.

County government cannot create prosperity. But it can create the conditions for businesses to invest, families to stay, and new opportunities to grow.

My Three Priorities

Grow Tourism

Tourism is our fastest opportunity for economic growth. By extending our tourism season, supporting local businesses, investing in our waterfronts and downtowns, and telling Kent County's story to a wider audience, we can bring more visitors—and more investment—to our communities.
Grow Year-Round Jobs

We need to diversify our economy with environmentally compatible light manufacturing, marine industries, food production, and value-added agriculture. These businesses provide stable, year-round jobs while building on industries that already thrive here.
Support Local Businesses

The best economic development strategy begins with the businesses already serving our communities. I'll work to reduce unnecessary barriers, streamline permitting, strengthen our Main Streets, and ensure local employers have the resources they need to grow.

Building the Foundation for Growth

Long-term economic success depends on investing in the fundamentals.

That means strengthening our schools, expanding career and technical education, preparing young people for skilled careers, and creating more affordable workforce housing so teachers, healthcare workers, first responders, tradespeople, and young families can afford to build their futures here.

My Priorities

I have lived in Kent County with my family for 23 years and it is a place I am proud to call home. That said we are at a pivotal moment in the county’s history if we want to preserve the Kent County we know and love.

In my opinion, we must enter a period of disciplined investment to achieve a desirable level of population growth and economic vitality.

The investment plan would target three critically important areas for the future of the county,

An energized and sophisticated economic development campaign

EDUCATION

Investment in the public school system with a focus on building a new middle school

WORKFORCE
HOUSING

Provide good quality architecturally pleasing affordable housing

While the three pillars of this plan are important there are other challenges and opportunities that need to be addressed here in Kent County as well. These include a focus on:

Woman’s and Geriatric Healthcare and a revitalized hospital

TRANSPORTATION

A county wide transportation plan

Making Kent County a cultural epicenter in the Mid-Atlantic
